How to Create a Slot in Dialog Engine

It may also refer to a position or period of time in a schedule or sequence, such as the 2:00 pm slot on the radio station’s broadcasting calendar or the job of chief copy editor at the newspaper.

When you create a slot, you can add synonyms to it so that Dialog Engine can recognize multiple words and phrases that are the same as or similar to the slot value. For example, if the slot value is NYC, you can enter New York City or The Big Apple as synonyms so that the bot knows when to use each of these. To do this, select the checkbox next to “Add Synonyms” on the Slot Type page. Then, type a synonym in the field that appears and press Enter. You can also delete existing synonyms by hovering over them and clicking the X that appears.
